Here is how to add FaderPort or iOStation 24c to V-Control Pro
- With the Faderport or ioStation connected. Launch V-Control Pro
- Click on the V-Control Pro icon in the system tray and select Setups...
- In the Setups window Click on +Add New in the Controllers section.
- Click on Add Faderport V2
- Ensure the Faderport is in Studio One Operation mode and NOT in HUI mode.

After setting up the Faderport or ioStation24c in V-Control Pro launch Pro Tools and then open the V-Control Pro Setups window.
Click on the Faderport/ioStation 24c that is paired with Pro Tools in the Setups column.
- Select 32 Channels in the Bank selection if using the AVID Control App or Standalone.
- Select 24 Channels in the Bank selection if using RAVEN or a 24 fader surface.
- Select 8/16 Channels in the Bank selection if using an 8 or 16 fader surface.
In the Pro Tools MIDI Input Devices Window, disable the Faderport. It is connected with V-control Pro and can cause conflict if enabled in Pro Tools as well.

Fast Focus and Refocus with FaderPort V2/iOStation 24c
With V-Control Pro, the FaderPort automatically focuses to any track you select. V-Control Pro can widen the bank up to thirty-two tracks for instant focus, and if it loses focus it immediately blinks the Channel button. Simply tap the blinking button to automatically ReFocus. Now you can select any track at any time for a focused FaderPort.
- When selecting a track within the controlled bank range, the Faderport will Fast Focus to the selected track for control.
- When selecting a track outside of the controlled banks, the Channel button will immediately blink on the Faderport. Press it to ReFocus to that track for control.
- When a track is selected within the controlled banks, press the channel button to enable the wheel for navigation.

Bankmode Controls with FaderPort V2/iOStation 24c
The faderport can easily change between Pan and Send modes for easy editing with the wheel. Press the following buttons to change assignment:
- Pan: Press Pan to assign the Encoder to control Pan position on the selected track. Press Pan again to switch between left and right panners on a stereo track. Press the Bypass to flip pan control to the Fader.
- Master: Press Master to assign Send A level control to the Encoder. Press the Encoder to switch between pre fader and post fader for the Send. Press Bypass to flip Send level control to the Fader. When flipped, the encoder will control Send Pan position as well as make the Mute button control Send Mute.
- Click: Press Click to assign Send B level control to the Encoder. Press the Encoder to switch between pre fader and post fader for the Send. Press Bypass to flip Send level control to the Fader. When flipped, the encoder will control Send Pan position as well as make the Mute button control Send Mute.
- Section: Press Section to assign Send C level control to the Encoder. Press the Encoder to switch between pre fader and post fader for the Send. Press Bypass to flip Send level control to the Fader. When flipped, the encoder will control Send Pan position as well as make the Mute button control Send Mute.
- Shift+Section: Press Shift+Section to assign Send D level control to the Encoder. Press the Encoder to switch between pre fader and post fader for the Send. Press Bypass to flip Send level control to the Fader. When flipped, the encoder will control Send Pan position as well as make the Mute button control Send Mute.
- Link: Press Link to enable V-Window mode. V-Window mode is compatible with plug-in parameters that are adjustable by clicking and moving the mouse up or down.
- Bypass(When in Pan Assignment): Press the Bypass button to flip Pan control to the fader. Press again to return standard control.
- Bypass(When in Sends Assignment): Press the Bypass button to flip Send Levels to the Fader when controlling sends. Encoder will control Send's pan position.
- Encoder Press: Toggle between Pre fader and post fader when editing sends.

Channel Strip Controls with FaderPort V2/iOStation 24c
Here are the channel strip controls available for the Faderport:
- Solo: Enables Solo for the selected track. Use the Shift button with the Solo button to Clear all actively solo'd tracks.
- Shift+Solo: Clears all solos.
- Mute: Enables Mute for the selected track.
- Arm: Press Arm to Record Arm the selected track for recording. Use the Shift Button with the Arm button to Record Arm all tracks.
- Shift+Arm: Arms all tracks for recording.
- Shift+Fader Press: Resets fader position to 0.
- Shift+Encoder Press: Resets pan position to Center.
- Previous: Navigates to previous track.
- Next: Navigate to next track.
- Command/Alt(Keyboard): Hold down the Command(Mac)/Alt(Windows) key while moving the encoder to enable finer resolution.

Automation Controls with FaderPort V2/iOStation 24c
With V-Control Pro you can select and see the automation modes: Off, Read, Write, Touch, Latch, Trim. And you can see status. The red buttons blink to indicate when automation is armed. Then when you touch the fader and engage write mode, the red buttons are lit solid. And when using touch mode writing is instantly disengaged when you release the fader.
Use the following automation buttons to change modes for the selected track:
- Touch: Press Touch to enable Touch automation for the selected track.
- Shift+Touch: Use the Shift button with Touch to enable Latch automation for the selected track.
- Write: Press Write to enable Write automation for the selected track.
- Shift+Write: Use the Shift button with Write to enable Trim automation for the selected track.
- Read: Press Read to enable Read automation for the selected track.
- Shift+Read: Use the Shift button with Read to turn Off automation for the selected track.

Transport Controls with FaderPort V2/iOStation 24c
- Play: Press Play to start the playhead in the session.
- Stop: Press Stop to stop the playhead in the session.
- Record: Press Record to Enable Recording for the transport.
- Rewind: Press Rewind to move the playhead back in the session.
- Forward: Press Forward to move the playhead forward in the session.
- Loop: Press Loop to enable Loop Playback for the transport.
- Marker: Pressing Marker will open the Marker dialog in Pro Tools.
- Scroll: Pressing Scroll will enable Shuttle Mode in Pro Tools.

Setting Up FaderPort 8/16 in V-Control Pro
Here is how to add FaderPort 8 or FaderPort 16 to V-Control Pro
- With the Faderport 8 or 16 connected. Launch V-Control Pro
- Click on the V-Control Pro icon in the system tray and select Setups...
- In the Setups window Click on +Add New in the Controllers section.
- Click on Add Faderport 8 or Add Faderport 16
- Ensure the Faderport is in Studio One Operation mode and NOT in HUI mode.
Here is how to setup Pro Tools
- With the Faderport 8 or 16 added to V-Control Pro, launch Pro Tools.
- Open a session, then
- Click on Setups in the Pro Tools menu bar and navigate to MIDI and open the MIDI Input Devices window.
- Verify the V-Control ports are enabled.
- Click on Setups in the Pro Tools menu bar and open the Peripherals window.
- Navigate to the MIDI tab and setup the ports:
- Type: HUI, Receive From: V-Control, Send To: V-Control
- For Faderport 16 users: Add this row.
- Type: HUI, Receive From: V-Control XT2, Send To: V-Control XT2
- Type: M-Audio Keyboard, Receive From: V-Control MA Keyboard, Send To: V-Control MA Keyboard

Track Mode with Faderport 8/16
Press TRACK to switch the Mixer strips into Track mode. All channels will be assigned to the channel strips.
Use the Bank and Channel modes in the Navigation section to navigate through all the tracks in the session.
Channel Strip Control:
- Select: Selects the channel.
- For FaderPort 16, the Select button on tracks 9-16 will automatically bank it to the first 8 channel strips.
Mute: Toggles Mute on the selected channel.
Solo: Toggles Solo on the selected channel.
Fader: Controls volume level.
Shift+Fader: Resets fader to 0dB.
Pan/Param knob: Adjusts the pan position for the selected track. (Limited to left pan for stereo tracks)

Press SENDS to the assign the mixer into Channel mode.
For the Faderport 8 the 8 channel strips will change to control the selected channel's parameters.
- Channel 1 fader controls volume.
- Channel 2 fader controls left pan.
- Channel 3 fader controls right pan.
- Channel 4 fader controls Send A Level.
- Channel 5 fader controls Send B Level.
- Channel 6 fader controls Send C Level.
- Channel 7 fader controls Send D Level.
- Channel 8 fader controls Send E Level.
For the Faderport 16, channel strips 9-16 will control the selected channel's parameters.
- Channel 9 fader controls volume.
- Channel 10 fader controls left pan.
- Channel 11 fader controls right pan.
- Channel 12 fader controls Send A Level.
- Channel 13 fader controls Send B Level.
- Channel 14 fader controls Send C Level.
- Channel 15 fader controls Send D Level.
- Channel 16 fader controls Send E Level.

Plug-Ins Mode for Faderport 8/16
Press the PLUG-INS to assign the mixer into Plug-in Editing mode.
For the Faderport 8 the 8 channel strips will change to control plug-in parameters.
For the Faderport 16, channel strips 9-16 will control plug-in parameters.
The select buttons on the channelstrips provide the following functions:
- FADERPORT 8
- Select on Channel 3 cycles through selected plug-in.
- Select on Channel 5 toggles the plug-in window.
- Select on Channel 7 cycles to previous parameters page.
- Select on Channel 8 cycles to next parameters page.
- FADERPORT 16
- Select on Channel 11 cycles through selected plug-in.
- Select on Channel 13 toggles the plug-in window.
- Select on Channel 15 cycles to previous parameters page.
- Select on Channel 16 cycles to next parameters page.
The Bypass will toggle bypass for the currently selected plug-in.
Shift+Bypass will toggle bypass for all plug-ins on the selected channel.

Pan Mode for Faderport 8/16
Press the PAN button to assign the mixer into Pan mode. All channel faders will control the current pan position. On stereo tracks, pan control is limited to the left channel.

Automation Controls with FaderPort 8/16
With V-Control Pro you can select and see the automation modes of each track: Off, Read, Write, Touch, Latch, Trim. And you can see status indicated by the Select button's color: Green, Red, Orange, and White. The red buttons blink to indicate when automation is armed. Then when you touch the fader and engage write mode, the red buttons are lit solid. And when using touch mode writing is instantly disengaged when you release the fader.
Use the following automation buttons to change modes for the selected track:
- Latch: Press Latch to enable Latch automation for the selected track.
- Trim: Press Trim to toggle trim automation.
- Off: Press Off to turn off automation on the selected track.
- Touch: Press Touch to enable Touch automation for the selected track.
- Write: Press Write to enable Write automation for the selected track.
- Read: Press Read to enable Read automation for the selected track.
Automation Enables are toggled by holding the Shift button and pressing the following:
- Shift+Channel: Toggles Volume Automation
- Shift+Zoom: Toggles Mute Automation
- Shift+Scroll: Toggles Pan Automation
- Shift+Bank: Toggles Send Volume Automation
- Shift+Master: Toggles Plug-in Automation
- Shift+Click: Toggles Send Mute Automation
Shift+Marker: Toggles Auto-Suspend

Navigation Controls with FaderPort 8/16
With the navigation section. Select a mode to assign the encoder and prev and next buttons.
- Channel:
- Encoder changes selected channel.
- Prev moves left one channel.
- Next moves right one channel.
- Zoom:
- Encoder zooms in/out on wave form in edit window.
- Prev zooms out horizontally.
- Next zooms in horizontally.
- Bank:
- Encoder changes selected channel.
- Prev banks mixer left.
- Next banks mixer right.
- Master:
- Encoder controls volume fader for Master track.
- Prev no action.
- Next no action.
- Marker: ,
- Encoder navigates marker locations. Pressing encoder creates new marker in timeline.
- Prev cancels when Create Marker window is open.
- Next confirms when Create Marker window is open.
Transport Controls with FaderPort 8/16
- Play: Press Play to start the playhead in the session.
- Stop: Press Stop to stop the playhead in the session.
- Record: Press Record to Enable Recording for the transport.
- Rewind: Press Rewind to move the playhead back in the session.
- Forward: Press Forward to move the playhead forward in the session.
- Loop: Press Loop to enable Loop Playback for the transport.
- Click: Toggles the Metronome On/Off when a click track is present.
- Shift+Track: Press Shift+Track button to toggle Counter display in FaderPort LCD.

The following buttons can be used to show/hide windows in Pro Tools:
- Audio: Press the Audio button to toggle between the Mix and Edit windows.
- VI: Press the VI button to show/hide the Transport window.
- Bus: Press the Bus button to show/hide the Memory Locations window.
- VCA: Press the VCA button to show/hide the Session Setup window.

Utility Buttons with FaderPort 8/16
Here are the commands for Save, Undo and Redo.
- Shift+Latch: Press Latch with the Shift modifier to Save.
- Shift+Trim: Press Trim with the Shift modifier to Redo the last action that was undone.
- Shift+Off: Press Off with the Shift modifier to Undo the last action.
